The War On Terror? by iddieforana The War On Terror? by iddieforana
More like "The War OF Terror."

This painting contains the names of 170 Iraqi civilians(aged "infant" to 85 years old) that the United States has slaughtered, in the name of oil.

It would take about 12 of these canvases to include the names of every dead Iraqi civilian recorded here as of the time of original submission to dA.

As of 10/24/05, it would take a total of approximately 176 more of these canvases to write every name of every Iraqi the United States has ruthlessly murdered.

That's not even considering the hundreds of thousands of Iraqi people killed as a result of US sanctions(low estimates are around 1,000,000 deaths, and high estimates are around 2,000,000 deaths).

To use some of Bono's words...
I'm sick and tired of Americans talking about the Democratic Revolution in Iraq, and the glory of the revolution, and the glory of dying for the revolution. They don't talk about the glory of killing for the revolution. What's the glory in taking a man from his bed and gunning him down in front of his wife and his children? Where's the glory in that? Where's the glory in sending a missile down a street of homes? Where's the glory in that? To leave them dying, or crippled for life, or dying under the rubble of the revolution...

I guess you didn't understand the quote... you call people terrorists who may fight your system because they see it as corrupt, just like you see their system as corrupt... so either you're both terrorists or none of you are. Take a pick, you can't have both. E.g. I see America as one of the most corrupt and fucked up nations in the entire world and I find its people to be very dislikeable with their endless stupidity and ignorance, not to mention there arrogance as "we're number one, we're the best, USA USA USA!" they make me physical ill.

Terrifying? Sure. Evil? No. Just because it's dislikeable doesn't make it evil. You can say the same about cannibalism. I don't see how rape is anymore evil than breeding animals for food when you could live with just eating rots and such. Also, you are aware that of the fact that rape is natural, right?

Rape is dislikeable  and natural?  Are you for real?

:iconfiskefyren:

What is dislikeable is subjective. Do I need to mention that some people find the idea of getting raped to be their greatest fantasy? So this rule doesn't apply for everyone which is what makes it subjective. You can't say rape is evil.

Rape happens in nature which is the definition of natural, like with homosexuality.

I guess the problem here is that you're quite ignorant and put emotions over that of reality.

I absolutely hate war.

Very powerful deviation. I love what you've done. People need to remember that war has consequences and that people are not expendable casualties.

My grandfather fought in WWII and we found a photograph of probably at least a hundred dead Italians laying on a field. Apparently there were six survivors from this group and told he soldiers my grandfather was with that the Nazis had gassed them. Not sure what those Italians did to piss the Nazis off so much. My guess is they probably just got in the Nazis way.

It's so terrible that so many people have died just because they were in the wrong place at the wrong time during a war.

I hate the War on Terror. War OF Terror, indeed.

I don't get why people do things. Maybe my mind is just too simple to understand the logic behind, "someone has a different point of view than me, someone is different than me, someone is weaker than me, therefore they are wrong and it's up to me to get rid of them or force them to see my way."
I don't get the point of genocides or wars. They're just stupid. Who thinks they have the right to take someone else's life away from them?
It makes me angry that it confuses me so much. I just...Ugh, I don't even know the word to say. Maybe I'm just too stupid to be able to understand it.

whose fucking place is it for the americans to force "democracy" on them, anyways?
if people want change, the only war that can change things is a civil war..
the americans need to get off their high horse, before everyone gets so sick of them that they get kicked off the saddle.

This peice is really beautiful. Very nice. I'm tired as well. Tired of the American government thinking we can bully everyone into anything like an evil, hungry monster. This recalls an important passage from my favorite author xP

"We have become a Nazi monster in the eyes of the whole world-a nation of bullies and bastards who would rather kill than live peacefully. We are not just Whores for power and oil, but killer whores with hate and fear in our hearts. We are human scum, and that is how history will judge us... No redeeming social value. Just whores. Get out of our way, or we'll kill you" - Hunter S. Thompson

During the run up to the last election, I remember being outraged at a remark John Kerry made (though, of course, I supported him). He said that American forces had suffered the greatest losses among those fighting in Iraq. There's no question that Americans have suffered tragic losses in Iraq, including many Americans who survived and have returned home, and my heart breaks for each of them and their families. But, at least in sheer numbers, it's the Iraqi prople who have by far suffered the most in this travesty and it's important that we remember them each as individual human beings as you have here.

It always amazes me how easily you or other people sharing your views forget how many people has been murdered with hands of their own country's leader and how many would be murdered if there was no "invasion" on Iraq. I can't believe you haven't ever heard of that thus I suspect you are simply ignoring it.

If you are moved by images of people who were killed or injured by "invaders'" bombs that missed their target then you would probably be even more moved seeing video records from tortures and executions on innocent Iraqis that were taking place when Saddam Husain was in power. Tongs pulling out children's nails, men being thrown into bathtubes filled with acid, women being regularly raped by prison guards etc. - and after Saddams fall - random floor sweepers, toilet cleaners, cooks, drivers, journalists, construction site workers, people who came to bring medical help. Muslims, christians, buddhists. Decapitated, having their throats cut, shot in the cback of their heads if they had strenght and courage to oppose. You can still see it all on the video tapes being sold everyday in the streets of Baghdad. They sell over 600 copies each day. People whose relatives and friends dissapeared during Saddam Husain's dictatorship still look for them and watch those films hoping to see them on them and to find what happened to them.

I thank God that Americans, British, Polish and the coalition forces from different countries decided to "invade" Iraq just like they "invaded" Europe fighting against Hitler and Soviets during WWII and I'm happy they didn't listen to "pacifists" that were trying to appease Hitler giving him another and another lands in Europe hoping it will satisfy him and stop him from more violence, and who were claiming Churchill "incited to war". I'm happy noone ever listened to them and so does noone important listen to the "pacifists" now. I don't really care what profits were the Americans hoping to get from this intervention. What I care about is that they brought there free elections, right to speak one's mind freely, to complain if you have been beaten by a soldier or a policeman. And I care about the fact that (although some mindless radicals, that you "pacifists" call "resistance" or "freedom fighters" or whatever stupid name comes to your confused heads, blowing living people in the air, murdering their brothers in faith, destroying new buildings and waterpipes and trying to steal anything that is left to steal and kill everyone that doesn't do what nearest mosque's imam says or doesn't cover her face when leaving home) although the whole mess terrorists are making the coalition forces didn't decide to leave before the coutry becomes able to defend itself. I prefer not to think what would happen if they did what "pacifists" want them to do and run away like cowards, leaving that land and the people to those fanatic psychos. I'm sure that peace, freedom, equality and brotherhood would be the last things to happen there.

Oh, and if you ever meet Bono tell him to better check who the money from his self-promotional pseudo-charitable actions goes to. Cause last time it went to African dictators who bought themselves new luxurious cars.

I will not debate you. Ever see a political debate online where peace was made?
I will simply show you where I come from, and hope for a returned understanding as I have understood you. :) This doesn't mean you agree, this simply means a listening ear.

Saddam Husein was/is a terrible man. No doubt about it. And the things he did to my brother and sisters absolutely sickens me. He needed to be taken out of power. Few people will dispute this.

But what I believe counters all human logic and reason.

I believe that love conquers all. I believe that all the world's atrocities may be stopped by love, al hamdullilah. And I believe through love, and Christ, we need not resort to violence as Saddam did.
Pacifismis not about running away like cowards. Anyone who would run is indeed a coward. Pacifism needs courage. Courage and bravery to turn the other cheek, and to love your enemy. The people you thought were pacifists were not actually pacifists....they were indeed cowards. True pacifism needs love, not fear.

My major in school is wildlife ecology/conservation biology. According to the drastic increases in population, our natural resources are very much in danger of running out. The solution: ride a damn bike every now and then, carpool as much as possible. Think not only conservatively, but sustainably.

I, myself, am Libertarian and I love it. According to the Libertarian foreign policy, there should be no foreign intervention. If only the US was Libertarian. Check out the party's site: [link]

Yeah, it's not an easy idea for most people to look at in the face(which is why America is in denial, investing fearful hope into "alternatives"[which, as mentioned on OilTruth, alternatives are more accurately "derivatives"]).

Indeed, the quality of living most Americans are used to is going to be completely destroyed in the coming years, if things are as bad as they should seem then i expect rank to swell tremendously among radical political groups like the existing socialist and anarchist movements in the US, i see the potential for some very real revolutionary fervor to be kicked up and i doubt it will be peaceful in nature. Perhaps the time for that elusive revolution so many groups have been squawking about for the past century is finally at hand?

Definitely. The tastes of attempting revolution we saw with Katrina(the anarchists who wanted to take over the US), are perhaps just snippits of a greater reaction we will have to Peak Oil.
So yes, really you're right on the nail. You're also right that it likely won't be peaceful. I think we'll see a major increase in crime, without a doubt.

Powerfull Work!

They say this war isn't about oil. Then the same corporate whores who run our country gouge us at the pump. They say it's about solidarity and freedom from oppression. I think that's odd. Seeing as how they could not seem to care less about solidarity or freedom from opression in africa or tibet. I say it's not about oil either. I say it's about an overated moronic redneck finishing up his daddy's dirty work. To hear bush tell the tale all who oppose him are agents of evil. Yet it is he who has mounted a campaign of anti-science and corporate greed that will likely lead to the complete destruction of the earths ecosystem and subsequently all life on this planet. I wonder if it's the same god he holds in such high esteem that he will have to answer to. I hope not. I hope it turns out to be Allah. Or some alien scientist that's real pissed off and has a big fat spiked anal probe just for him.

But I'm not bitter. :)
